GENERAL INFORMATION
TheEPiCFoundation’s Scholarship Program aims to help address the gaps in disparity amongst the college attendance and graduation rates of minority males in the state of Georgia. Through scholarship funding, more of these promising individuals will have a head start on the financial obligations needed for college.
In 2018, the US Census bureau notes only 26.5% of black men hold a 4 year college degree compared to 44.5% of white men. Our research shows reports of sharp declines in the college enrollment and success rate of minority males during the pandemic. In 2021, African American male enrollment dropped by 14.3%.
According to the US Census, there is an educational gap with most minorities that are 25 years-old and older that have obtained bachelor degrees between 2005 – 2019; in addition, African American males have a very low graduation rate of 34 % from four (4) year colleges/universities according to the US Department of Education statistical data in 2017. With obtaining a bachelor’s degree, many minority males have opportunities for obtaining a higher salary and career advancements (US Census).

Beginning February 1st through May 30th of each year, TheEPiCFoundation will accept applications from minority male high school seniors in the state of Georgia.

- Proof of high school transcript
- College acceptance letter
- A letter of recommendation (from a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, non-family member, or religious figure).
- An essay introduction, your future professional goals, and how you will serve as a roll model for minority males as an advocate for higher education.
